Currently a freelancer based in UK, I am a sound designer always excited for fresh challenges and new sound worlds to design. In 2022, I was awarded the MPSE Golden Reel Outstanding Achievement in Sound Editing – Student Film (Verna Fields Award) for my graduation film: Build Me Up.

I started off as a sound editor and gained professional working experience working in a team in an award winning post production house in Singapore (Mocha Chai Laboratories) where I worked primarily on features and short films from independent filmmakers to high end TV.

​

My desire to work and collaborate on international projects led to my return to school to gain stronger storytelling and collaborative skills. I graduated from the National Film and Television School in the UK with a MA in Sound Design for Film and Television in 2021. There, I honed my narrative, technical and soft skills working on more narrative shorts, documentaries, animation, science and natural history shorts, commercials and games. I have experience in dialogue editing, sound edit, sound design, foley, music editing, mixing and mastering for theatrical 5.1, broadcast, web and dolby atmos.

I was selected as a fellow at the Busan International Film Festival's 2018 Asian Film Academy. Collaborating with top emerging filmmakers selected from Asia, we made a film that was screened at the Busan International Film Festival.  In 2019, I was selected as a sound technical teaching assistant to the next batch of fellows.

Fluent in English and Chinese, I am familiar with both western and asian culture and their soundscapes.  

When I am not doing sound design, I enjoy learning and trying new experiences.

(Painting, woodcrafting, trekked in Himalayas, studied Korean, love cooking new recipes, tried crocheting and knitting, climbed Mount Kinabalu, backpacked in Eastern Europe and still looking for more new things to try out)
